Your First Visit to Our Overland Park Practice

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

So you are in the door, now what?

Well first off, you will fill out some initial paperwork that will be gathering a quick medical history so the doctor can better assess your complaints. We will also make a copy of your driver’s license and insurance card (if you have it) for our files. The paperwork usually takes 10-15 minutes to complete, so we ask that you please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. Once the doctor reviews your information, your initial consultation with the doctor will begin.

They will ask you detailed questions about your primary complaint and gather any information they feel necessary to come up with the best diagnosis for your complaint. Here, they will perform all necessary orthopedic tests, neurological tests, and range of motion testing to help isolate the issue. If needed, radiographs (x-rays) are taken to rule out any contraindications for treatment and get a better look “inside” at your area of complaint.

This is the process for your first visit and you can plan on this visit taking 30 minutes to 1 hour. You will return the following day, after we have taken an in depth look at your x-rays, to review your x-rays with the doctor and to talk about your specific treatment options. You are well on your way to a much healthier and pain free lifestyle!

Clients appreciate that we explain everything in advance!
